Welcome to the official Fans For 3G website.

Fans For 3G was formed in January 2014 by a group of football fans who believe it is now time for the 3G artificial football pitches to be allowed at all levels of the game in England.

We have the full backing and support of 3G4US - the group of 50+ football clubs campaigning for 3G surfaces - and likewise, we fully support their aims and efforts.

The latest "third generation" artificial football pitches (also known as "Football Turf") provide an excellent and consistent playing surface all year round and are a valuable source of additional income to clubs who can hire out their facilities on a daily basis. They are also useable in nearly all weather conditions, leading to fewer (if any) postponements.

Yet, despite 3G pitches being regularly used at the highest level in many other countries, the top English leagues lag behind in their acceptance of 3G and, at the current time, they are not allowed in leagues above step 3 of the non-league game (national level 7). They are also currently banned beyond the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup.
